Teresa Navarro is an award-winning actress & producer. In 2015, she received the Equality International Film Festival Executive Producer Award. She received an award for Best Actress at the 2016 Equality International Film Festival. She was awarded the 2016 Humanitarian of the Year Award at the Equality International Film Festival for her volunteer work and efforts in helping survivors of abuse and human trafficking.
As a survivor of abuse, it became part of Teresa's life mission to highlight this important issue. After filming the series that garnered her award for Best Actress, which she played the starring role of Nikki, a girl who was being human trafficked by her own mother, it furthered Teresa's desire to bring more advocacy on this worthy cause. From her pain, came her purpose. Teresa recently began Phoenix Rising Pictures. A film production company geared towards highlighting and advocating for stories of women and people of color.
Currently, Teresa is writing a series (The Last Single Gal), in post production for a film (Conversant), and in pre-production for a film that she will be producing, directing, and acting. Her latest work can be seen on Sense 8 an Original Netflix Series, starring in Enter the Fire a film shown on Amazon, Delirium on Apple TV, Tubi, Mubi, and Roku to name a few. Teresa recently wrapped and starred in a spy action drama film (Conversant) and a spy action comedy film (The Extraction). She is slated to star in a spy action thriller film this Summer and a buddy comedy feature length movie in Fall of this year.
